With the time I have at home, my remaining waking hours have been consumed by a tv show called Pushing Daisies. The pie maker Ned (Lee Pace) has the ability to return dead things to life by touching them. Touch them again though, and they die for good. Keep that living thing alive for more than a minute, and someone else will have to die to keep the cosmic balance. Not to take over Eric's reviewing blog but my love for this show stems from its innocent and whimsical plot, not to mention the eye pleasing mid-century fashion of Charlotte 'Chuck' Charles played by Anna Friel. Actually, all the characters are so colourful. This show is the best.
Ned's ability to bring back the dead allowed him to re-awaken his murdered childhood sweet heart, Chuck, and though they're awfully in love they can't touch otherwise she'll die again. It's so tragic yet endearing when they work around it (holding hands through gloves, hugging through plastic sheets). Together with Emerson Cod (Chi McBride) and sometimes Olive Snook (Kristin Chenoweth) the team solve the quirkiest crimes ever penned, while running the Pie Hole - a pie eatery - and trying to keep the secrets of 'Pie Boy''s ability and Chuck's non-death. Why did this show have to be axed? I feel a sudden urge to bake a pie and plant daisies.
Cue Daisies spam from Tumblr. Pictures from: freshen-up (above), pieholecaps (4; below), peakingoranges, consonantsnfouls.
